Hello and welcome! I graduated from the acclaimed YogaCampus 200 hour Teacher Training course in March 2020.
I have been teaching online and in various spaces including parks, offices and a listed chapel in Soho! Having experienced the healing capacity of yoga, my approach is rooted in authenticity, inclusivity and a belief in the transformative power and sheer joy of movement! I teach hatha flow, vinyasa flow, slow flow, mindful somatic, breath-led and embodied yoga; meeting you where you are on the mat, helping you to feel better in everyday life.
I'm available for private classes, corporate classes, studio cover and regular gigs.
JULY
"There is a stillness to July. The peak of energy we felt in June is beginning to wane and the world seems to pause. Resourced and energised by the season, we're able to kick back a little and enjoy the fruits of our labour" Louise Press
From mountain pose, bring the weight to one foot. Lift the foot of the balancing leg, opening the knee gently to the side, and either keeping the toes of the balancing foot resting on the ground, or the sole of the foot pressing into the standing shin or inner thigh, avoiding the knee. Press foot into leg and leg into foot, keeping the weight rooting down through the whole foot, legs engaged, naval drawing lightly into spine, lifting up from the pelvic floor, keeping your hips level and the outer hip of the standing leg firming in. Hands can come together in Anjali Mudra or unfurl the arms and hands into branches, leaves, spring blossom, swaying in the breeze, crown of your head reaching to the sky!
3-5 clear, conscious breaths and repeat on side 2.
“Amy's lovely classes help you focus on your mind and body for an hour of relaxation, away from the distracting world we live in” Lucy
"I’m very glad that Evie decided to do yoga with Amy for her Duke of Edinburgh. Evie is hypermobile and Amy tailored the classes to support and strengthen her joints. The classes were one-on-one, and Amy really took her time to ensure that she was happy with Evie's positioning for each move. When Evie had bouts of illness, Amy took a view on whether or not the class would go ahead, or continue with adapted moves, e.g to support Evie’s breathing. We found her to be a sympathetic teacher, flexible in every sense of the word. I suspect she’s pretty spiritually aware but she wears it lightly. Evie now has an interest in yoga which I hope will stay with her for life." Julie
